In 1834 a granite obelisk was placed in front of the new Sailors' Home. Under this obelisk was interred Robert Randall's remains (Barry, 42). Robert Randall was originally buried on his Minto farm in Manhatten, but his casket was moved, possibly to the family Crypt at Trinity Church Yard , to make way for the construction of Eighth Street in Manhatten (Barry, 42).
